Some careers are defined by a single role. Others are shaped by curiosity, commitment, and the quiet determination to keep growing. Mrs. Agbadi’s story at SIFAX Group is unmistakably the latter. In this edition of Milestone Spotlight, she opens up about the journey that took her from a first impression in the reception area to the helm of the Group’s Treasury function, and the people, values, and moments that made all the difference.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Mrs. Agbadi’s path to SIFAX Group began through a referral, a trusted introduction that opened the door to what would become a defining chapter of her professional life.
“My first day was so exciting and inspirational,” she recalls. “The calibre of staff I encountered while waiting at the reception made an immediate impression on me.” That first encounter set the tone for everything that followed: a career built in an environment of high standards and genuine talent.
A CAREER BUILT ACROSS EVERY UNIT
What makes Mrs. Agbadi’s story especially compelling is the breadth of her experience within the Finance department. Rather than settling into a single niche, she navigated virtually every unit the department had to offer.

“My whole Finance Team helped me settle in well. Knowing I was good with figures, I worked through all the units — from cashier, to posting, vendor payments, receipts, credit memos, waiver raising, and eventually finding my strength in treasury.”
This deliberate exposure across functions gave her a depth of understanding that would later prove invaluable when opportunity knocked at the most unexpected moment.
“I worked through every unit in Finance — from cashier to treasury. That journey equipped me for a role I never anticipated.”
THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE DIFFERENCE
When asked who made her journey better, Mrs. Aishat does not hesitate: it is her Finance Team; a group she describes with warmth and a deep sense of loyalty.
“Over the years, we have built a bond. We have this shared attitude of never wanting to fail in our duties, so we complement each other, one way or another, to always deliver on our responsibilities.”

She also credits two leaders who played pivotal roles in her growth: Mr. Aminu Mohammed, under whose guidance she developed professionally, and her current boss, Mr. Bolarinwa Abioye. When the opportunity to lead the Treasury function arose suddenly, it was Mr. Abioye who, when asked by management to recommend the right person, put her name forward.
“I had to work extremely hard to prove that I truly deserved that position,” she says, with characteristic candour. “I am so grateful for both of them.”
WITNESSING THE GROUP’S GROWTH
Mrs. Aishat points to the evolution of the work itself as one of the most significant shifts she has witnessed over the years — a natural reflection of an organisation that has not stood still.

“What excites me most is how exponentially SIFAX Group has grown, along with its diversification into different industries. It reflects the vision of the owner, and to be part of that story is something I hold with a great deal of pride.”
THE SKILL THAT MATTERS MOST
Ask her what skill she has mastered, and her answer is not what you might expect from someone at the top of a technical finance function.
“My professional skills have grown and improved over the years, but the most important skill I have developed is understanding how to work with my team and with people within and outside SIFAX Group.” For Mrs. Agbadi, technical excellence and human intelligence go hand in hand.
WORDS FOR THOSE JUST STARTING OUT
For newer colleagues finding their footing, Mrs. Agbadi’s advice is direct and grounded in lived experience:
“Be dedicated to your role, and always go the extra mile to better yourself. When you are given other job roles or responsibilities, accept them. That is how you equip yourself across different areas of your department and how you become someone who can fit into any unit, at any time.”

“Accept every role you are given. That is how you equip yourself — and how you become indispensable.”
Congratulations on this milestone, Mrs. Agbadi.
Your story reminds us all that loyalty, versatility, and team spirit are the foundations of a great career.
